Form based codes embody an expressive power.  Exceeding the influence of traditional zoning, this artful place-making tool applies principles and regulations to shape a place’s character, whether neighborhood or city. The resulting high quality urban fabric is achieved by a public process that articulates a community’s unique vision by identifying regulations representing the building blocks of community: form, scale and massing, streets, and public space. 

Planners, architects, urbanists and all those who value well-designed places should attend this event.  The presentation and discussion, led by one of the nation’s leading practitioners of form based codes, will focus on the following topics:

 

  • Where have form based codes helped shape city place-making?
  • Where do form based codes provide benefits beyond zoning and specific plans?
  • What are the key steps for successful adoption and implementation?

DINNER MENU

Dinner entrees include fresh French baguette, Soup of the day,
Organic greens with house vinaigrette dressing, Fresh vegetable,
and Rice or potato.

 

With one of the following selections:

Coq au Vin –
Traditional French dish of chicken cooked in a red wine sauce with mushrooms.

Beef Bourguignon –
Tender pieces of beef in Burgundy wine mushroom sauce.

Pasta Monegasque –
Penne paste with tomatoes, garlic, basil and olive oil.

 

All with Sherbet and Coffee or tea.
